HISTORY
Giovanni Pietrovecchio and Natale Pietrovecchio were the first generation of their family. They settled down in Santo Stefano in Valdobbiadene at the end of the IX° century and they initially worked on land granted under concession and then they founded their first wine cellar.
Giovanni had three children: Aldo, Lida and Elio Pietrovecchio. Together they decided to buy the lands surrounding their old house and to devote their time to the production of the wine “col fondo” (with spent yeast sediments).
The only heir, Bruno Pietrovecchio, Aldo Pietrovecchio’s son, took over the family business and keeps the tradition alive.
Nowadays, Laura Pietrovecchio who is about to graduate in Oenology from Padua university helps his father in the business.

The really high quality of the wine is provided by the fact that the land is entirely situated in Santo Stefano in Valdobbiadene and that the land itself has a natural slope, typical in this area. The product can only be hand-harvested so the process has lasted for a long time and it has also been precise and of high quality.
The vine produces, therefore, highly qualitative grapes and consequently an excellent wine which can only be found in the Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG area. The value of the land, where our grapes grow, was awarded in 2019 by UNESCO who prized the hills of prosecco Conegliano Valdobbiadene with the title of World Heritage site.
Pietrovecchio wine cellar and vineyards are all located within the Core-Zone of the site where the maximum slope exceeds 50%; this is the particular morphological characteristic that provides the landscape with the well-known chessboard-like pattern which is very unique in the world.
